Need More Time...
January 24, 2010
Amidst watching the Australian Open tennis tournament and the NFL playoffs, sadly seeing my Cincinnati Bengals lose to the Jets, attending some Creighton b-ball games, and coaching basketball for Holy Name, I would say I’ve definitely found some quality sports action here in Omaha. This has been a tremendous stress relief and joy to keep me healthy as this 2nd semester gets underway. One aspect that concerns me is whether I will be able to train for the Lincoln, Nebraska half-marathon in May. I would like to, but I am not sure if there will be enough time.
I really just need more time to get everything completed. Taking four graduate credit hours, teaching six classes each day, and trying to be a strong community member have definitely taken a toll on my body. It has been awesome and full of new adventures each day. I only wish I had 32 hours in a day…yes, 32. 24 hours seems like enough time to get everything done (planning, grading, reading for grad school, typing papers, eating, running, prayer, late-night table tennis with TJ, etc.) Then having an additional eight hours would allow myself to stay healthy with a good night’s rest. Unfortunately that is not the case I have about 17-18 hours to fill it all in with anywhere from 5-7 hours to sleep. It seems difficult to dedicate my time to any one project because of the overwhelming amount of tasks that have to be completed. However, I believe that if I can make it through this and the next two years in Magis then I will be able to thrive in the future after Magis.
I’m glad I have plenty of time to think about where my life will go after Magis. I love where I am with my life right now: the opportunities, the people, living in the city of Omaha - all of this is exactly the type of life I worked to attain for post college graduation. This has been and continues to be one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I thank God for this opportunity.
